Thanks to this board!!! Angel has had his latest check up with the specialist, and even though he went up to 9 (just over 160) at one point, he is now officially in remission. The 9 could be put down to stress.
Ideally his readings could be lower, he is still in the high end of normal, but I'm so proud of him. He loves being big brother to the kittens, I've always known he has a caring and gentle nature. The kittens adore him and are more loving every day with me.
I am so grateful I found this board, as without it I would never have found out either about the trial or the best way to treat Angel, and as I said before, it could well have saved his life. And by Angel being in the trial, it's hopefully not just helped him, but helped future treatment of diabetic cats in UK. He will continue to be monitored for the rest of the 12 months, his next check up is in 3 months. Meanwhile I'll check him at least every 24 hours whilst he's still high-ish.
And his weight is ideal for the first time in ages, he's 4.7 kilos, at his heaviest he was 8.3!!
