Well, Angel has been OTJ for nearly 4 weeks. This morning I tested him and he was 9.1 (just under 165) on alphatrak. He was hungry but may have eaten (low carb food) within 2 hours, also he may have been stressed because it took a few goes to get blood.
I'm so worried that he may be no longer in remission. I haven't given him any insulin, I'll see what he tests tonight.

That's the best you can do, just test again later and see if its a fluke. I'm the same with Hidey, any time I see a jump in his numbers I start worrying lol and he's been in remission since March.

Keeping my fingers crossed for angel. It must be just as nerve racking when they go in remission, especially in the early stages.

I may have good news re the Lantus ;-)

Hoping that Angel stays in remission.

Jack just officially got off the sauce today.

Let the nail biting begin.

He was hungry but may have eaten (low carb food) within 2 hours,

As I found out on Thursday, hunger (even when not obvious) can spike Saoirse's BG several points. It was still a bit high at PMPS (7.4)and I gave a tiny dose thinking that her numbers might be trending up again. Result? Mel spent the night minding us after Saoirse dropped to 4.9 a few hours later. (I've suspended her insulin treatment to see how she does.)

Keeping fingers crossed it's just a fluke, Cassandra.

sigh of relief, he's 6.8 now!!

Think I'll keep on testing him every 12 hours for a bit though. Thanks for the reassurance xxx

disappointingly, Angel was 8.7 this morning.

I'm pretty sure he's not getting fed elsewhere, but I put his 'do not feed' collar on just in case. I'm also going to try to keep him in tonight, which he will hate. The only thing I can think of that would mean he's still in remission, is that he is eating too much. I've noticed he's wanted more food since the weather has been cooler, so with keeping him in AND regulating his food I'll see if that makes a difference.

Oh dear, Cassandra. :YMSIGH:

Fingers crossed that grounding Angel will produce better numbers and shed some light on whether or not he's found a source of contraband.

Just a thought, Cassandra. Do you note how long it was since Angel was last fed before his BG checks? Also, what sort of feeding schedule do you have him on?
