Andy was back to his normal self this morning - ate well etc. He was 379, gave him 1u today and he has already dropped to 171 by +6, a 208 drop. Overnight on 1.2u, he dropped from 319 to 89 by +6.5 even after his normal meal and bedtime snack which concerned me so I gave him a T of dm dry.

If he gets that much drop from 1u, I think I should back off the 1.2u to 1u and do a curve in a few days. He does appear to be over whatever caused him to vomit and not eat.

He does have a steep drop but he is in safe numbers at nadir. He does seem to bounce for preshots though. Or it is just a natural rise....

Two schools of thought. He has to get used to those blue nadirs so you can aim for green ones. So, you can continue with the 1.2 any cycle you can monitor and "train" his liver to like the lower ranges. Or you can lower the dose and hope his pre shots and nadirs lower.

IMHO, I'd stick with 1.2 anytime you can monitor. Maybe give him a tiny snack around +4/5 and see if he surfs longer. No food after nadir (unless it's too low) and see if he surfs longer. It's all about using the levels, the food and the insulin to try for the best results. But first, you have to figure out what works for him.
