Amino B Plex

Hi
I was just wondering if this was contraindicated for diabetic cats (it has fructose in it). We had Trouble on it to help with eating and vitamins and the vet said we could continue but I have stopped until I get more information. Thought someone here might know?

Hi Asreal,

If you could skip the amino supplementation, Jarrow B Right is an OK B complex supplement for kitties - Tanya's site recommends a dose of 1/10th capsule per day for CKD kitties. I'd suggest asking your vet about it. (NB: you might need to add something to cover the flavour.)

Another option might be Zobaline or Vitacost B12 supplement (methylcobalamine). Diabetics tend to be low in B12 and it can help with appetite and give the kitty an overall boost. It's also a good treatment for diabetic neuropathy.

Great! Thanks @Critter Mom I will check the Jarrow B Right out.. It just seemed wrong to feed him something with fructose

I think that you may be able to give extra B12 with the B complex, but I'm not sure about folate. Might be an idea to run the dosing info by your vet once you decide on the supplements that you want to you use.
