I would increase her dose. Normally with an acro cat, we’d do increases of 0.5u and I do think she has room for that much of an increase but she has had some blue and a little green so I might just try to fine tune her dose with a smaller increase.

Just to be sure, I’m going to check in with @Wendy&Neko, our amazing high dose guru, and see what she thinks. One of us will post shortly.....before shot time.

HI YES She has had some blue that is why I was wondering if I should wait? Thank you:bighug:

I'd tend to agree with Marje -- especially since the blues are at the high end -- but Wendy is more experienced with acro kitties.

It helps to keep in mind that there are times when medications, etc. by necessity have the effect of raising BG numbers. Working the insulin around the cat's needs is more important so if Amethyst needs m more insulin, that's what she gets!

Hi okay Thanks do I increase?o_O

If meds are negatively impacting her numbers, you increase to compensate. Then reduce when the numbers tell you to. She has only seen very high blues since starting pred. Which to me means a 0.5 unit increase. Howver, Amethyst's SS says you are reducing the amount of pred starting tomorrow. With that in mind, I might try the 0.25 unit increase.
