Good day everyone,

Does anyone if an American manufactured AlphaTrak 2 is compatible with AlphaTrak test strips sold in Canada?

I bought my machine as a bundle on the Countrysidepet website and I have now ran out of test strips. Zoetis themselves (Both Canada and US) have ZERO clue if their own product is compatible. These are not cheap and I am trying to avoid buying an entire box in case they are not compatible.

Super grateful if anyone has any insight on experience with this kind of situation.

Thank you in advance.

Alexe.

Hi Alexe,
I don't think there will be any problems just as long as you enter the right code number into the meter as the strips are Alphatrak
It might be worth double checking with the control solution though.
What code is on the bottle?

Just to add Alexe, i just thought, all Alphatrak 2 test strips are calibrated for the Alphatrak 2 meter so there will be no problems just as long as you enter the correct code into the meter.

Hi,

I do hope so but I wanted to make sure. I will have to end up trying it anyway, scared or not. I have several weeks if not months of testing/food and insulin amounts before we get to the right dosage for him. So far it has been over 3 months and his sugar has not come under 23 (Canadien measurement).

Members who are in Canada have used the AT2 strips. Since this is a patented product, the strips should be fine.

AlphaTrack strips are expensive -- more expensive than any other meter. In addition, they can only be purchased online. If you run out, it's a problem especially since most people are running low on strips at the most inconvenient time possible. You may want to consider using a human meter or having one as a back-up.
