Hi. I am new and appreciate this site so much. While educating myself on my cat's new diagnosis, my most urgent question is 'why does Moochie seem like he can't get enough to eat?' This is not like him before I started giving him insulin shots. Is there a way to search for topics, like a search field? Thank you for your patience while I learn this wonderful site. -Sherry M. Unregulated kitties tend to act like they are starving, because their bodies are not able to process the food well and they are literally starving. This should lessen as he gets regulated.

I like to search on the old site. Go up to the blue FelineDiabetes.com HOME line at the top of the page and click on that . It will take you to a site where you cannot post, but you can search easily.

Hi Sherry and welcome to FDMB.

Like Sue said, an unregulated cat is always hungry because they cannot process their food properly.

Can you tell us more about Moochie? By answering these questions it will help us to give you some advice to help get Moochie regulated.

1) How long has he been diabetic? What insulin is he getting and what dose?

2) What are you feeding him?

3) Are you hometesting?

Diet and insulin greatly affect how quickly a cat's glucose can become regulated. The best way to determine if your insulin dose is working is by hometesting. These are all things that we can help you learn about.
