I cannot afford the PZI...can anyone recommend something cheaper I could get at WAL-MART? I was going to use Novolin- N. $25
Any responses would be great!

So, does Novolin have a longer acting formula? Then get the Novolin N. That is the only relatively inexpensive insulin that works better than no insulin. It will work better if dosed three times a day since N only lasts 8-10 hours.
I don't know what to do then. I can't afford the PZI. Any suggestions???No.
Novolin is Novo Nordisk's trade name for a family of Recombinant DNA origin insulins. They include N (sometimes called NPH), and R (very fast actions) and mixture of the two. Only N/NPH is OK, but not that good, for cats.
Holy carp...369! Better give 2 units...he's still eating. Oh gosh, I feel so bad for him!Katie you just got the vile of PZI. Unless it wasn't a full vile, If you take care of it & refridgerate it, it will last quite awhile at your low dose. You don't need to worry about getting any more insulin right now. Have you checked this
