Hi, I was posting on the general health forum about some startup difficulties shooting my cat with PZI, it normally goes fine but sometimes I get a fur shot or the needle goes out the other side of his skin tent and I obviously want to make sure that doesn't happen. Some people suggested getting a syringe with a shorter needle? Does anyone here do this and if so does the dose need to be converted? Please let me know, thanks!

The shorter needle shouldn't affect the dose. If you get a u40 syringe with the shorter needle, the dose would be the same. It's only if you use a u100 syringe that you need to convert the dose. :) I used the shorter needles once...I didn't like them personally, but they can be super helpful if you're having lots of fur shots.

Hi SamsonsMom. I think I saw your post on the Main Health forum and I went looking for shorter needles for U-40 syringes. Didn't have much luck, so if you wanted to try a shorter needle it looks like you'd have to get U-100s and as Rachel said, use the conversion chart.
