My AlphaTak2 test strips have previously coded in the range 137 to 141. My new vial coded at 132 with an older test solution and 131 with a new test solution. Wow. Yum's BG should drop by 10 points today. :^)?
Has anyone else ever had such an outlier?

Not sure what you are asking here. The control solution is just to tell you whether or not your meter and/or strips are working properly. It doesn't influence what the blood glucose measures when you test your kitty. As long as the test with the control solution measures within the range stated on the strip container, your system is working properly.

Well, if the new strips give a different number than the old ones for the same bottle of test solution, they would also give a different number for the blood drop. The allowed range of 100 to 185 is pretty big. I knew they weren't perfectly accurate, but...disappointed.

The control solution test is just to make sure that your meter/strips are working properly. It has nothing at all to do with how your cat's blood sugar test will be. The glucose in the solution is not the same as the glucose in your cat. Sorry that you are disappointed. Yum is gorgeous and her spreadsheet looks great! Congrats on that!
