Alphatrak sample size vs Bayer Contournext EZ

Hi Everyone! I've been considering switching to a human meter (I have Bayer Contournext EZ), but hesitating 'cos it seems to me that the Alphatrak takes a much smaller sample size. Any thoughts?

I see. I was actually quite surprised at how much larger a sample the Bayer contour needed, although technically it asks for the same .3 (or whatever) size as the alphatrak. Hmmm. Maybe I'll get the Relion. Thank you for your feedback.

It lists it needing only a 0.3 but it needs larger? Strange.

My guess would be that the official listing for both is .3, but in terms of actual use Alphatrak works well with even less with no problem.

I use the Alphatrak myself so I can't speak from experience. Many here use the relion micro or confirm.

That's the main reason I've been sticking with Alphatrak, sigh, but it's basically eating through my bank balance, lol, so I'm considering switching.

If you want what I think is probably the least expensive but still seems accurate enough - I'd look at this Arkray - it's a generic version of the Relion Confirm. American Diabetes Wholesale is a pretty good site. I used the strips in a Relion Confirm and was satisfied with it.

I tried jet.com for a while, but while their discounts and initial prices seem lower than ADW, at the final total their taxes are so high that it basically cancels out all the discounts and ADW still has the lowest prices, though not by a huge margin.
