Ahhhhh today while researching alternative to alpha strips I realize the new batch had a different code from the previous batch and thus rendering all my reading from jan 21st till now void?

As confused I was with the dosage now I am clueless. Continuing with dosage of 3 and monitoring mid points.

thank you all for your help. I have been an emotional wreck .. the condition of my furry friend is affecting how I feel about myself and subsequently my life...all a reflection

I have done the same thing and forgotten to change the code for a new vial. I caught it after only a few tests luckily. I found that the results were still very close in range even with the wrong code. You could try doing a test with the wrong code, then redoing a test right away with the correct code to see if there is a big difference.

Do try to relax as much as you can. It is always very stressful finding out one of our furbabies has FD, but it really does get easier as time goes along. Trust me...I was the queen of meltdowns the first few months of my journey into FD and it is only because of the wonderful people here that I still have any semblance of sanity (as little as it is :) ) left. :bighug::bighug:

thank you for all your support. <3
continuing on..
FD blues ...vacillating between hope and despair.. always helps to get reassurance from co travelers on this path

Hi Arman, Alpha Trak meters read higher than human glucometers, and most people here use human meters because of the cost of the strips. Our dosing guideline documents all use human glucometer numbers as well - one more supporting reason for using a human meter. But the reason I'm mentioning it is so that you don't compare Raja's numbers to others who are using human meters.

Can you show on your spreadsheet when you get tests with the correct code? He is pretty high and it would be good to get to the bottom of whether or not this is indicating he needs more insulin or whether this is just a bounce. You want 3 consecutive days with preshots and one mid-cycle test during the day and evening cycles to be able to tell what's what.

How is Raja eating, feeling and acting? You'll hear people refer to the "5 P's", which are good indicators of how a cat is doing - purring, preening, playing, peeing and pooping. A cat is more than blood sugar and people will tell about those to describe how their kitty's doing.

Hang in there - you're learning a ton and are on the right track!

Thank you. I have started entering numbers and they seem a little lower or similar. I have kept him on 3 units for now.
He is eating well ( poached chicken) and he is purring..and peeing..not sure about pooping or preening yet. His walk was very bad three days ago where we was nearly to his hocks and I have been giving him b12 liquid ( soon zoabline). Today his walk is a lot better and his fur feels better.
