Are these the correct test trips that can be used in the AT2 meter? http://a.co/667tA7j
Yes, you can use these. Make sure you do several same drop comparisons using one of these and a proper AT strip so you know how they compare. They're usually close and these often read a little higher than the AT strips. Leave your AT meter set at whatever the cat code number is for your current vial of AT strips.

To get any kind of rough relationship between the differing test strips, you will need multiple double tests at different levels of glucose. Given that the test strips may have + or - 20% variability from what a lab would get (per FDA requirements), any relationship will be approximate at best. If you collect any paired tests, I would be happy to see what shows up in Excel ... but it will only be approximate. Plus, there is no lab test for comparison (unless you can do them at the vet's office at the same time as a blood draw is being done and get that value.)

See my signature links for some more useful info on testing and glucose measurement.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea to mix strips, and especially now that the freestyle lite and the alphatrak are no longer made by the same company.
By all means save your money using a human strips, but use a human meter, many of us do and it's accurate enough for you to monitor kitties BG and make dose adjustments.
Just my two cents worth.

While I am not advocating using the FS trips in the AT2 meter either, the AT2 strips are still manufactured by Abbott. I think the notion that they were different was based on an assumption because the packaging now has the Zoetis name rather than Abbott's. Neither the patents nor the Abbott butterfly logo on the AT2 strips have changed and neither has the meter appearance. Abbott sold off their animal division to Zoetis and since Zoetis was involved in the original development of the AT meter they have simply bought back the marketing rights to the meter. Zoetis is not in the business of muanfacturing glucometers or the strips to use in them.

Yes those will work but you can find less expensive ones. There are a lot of lancets that will work with that device.

Thank you @Pati
Side note: Maury is having the best day since diagnosis! I got a 100s reading. Planning on testing at +5 to make sure he doesn't go too much lower. The FS strips I got seem to read 20 points lower than the AT strips.:cat:

Sandi, I bought some Free Style Lite test strips for my alphatrak 2, they are a little less expensive than the AT strips. Just keep a few AT strips to compare a couple readings with each pack of FS strips. Mine are varying by about 20 points, not all do but as mentioned they are allowed a 20% variation in results. Also, the higher the BG number the higher the two can differ. Like Pati's post above, hers are almost exact with the 140/141 reading :cat:
