Last night I did a half dose of 2u in part so I could get some sleep.
This morning was her full dose.
Appetite is good.
Two new bowel movements since +5 from last night. (All of them look weird but these are normal weird.)
Just a had a good pee where she was able to crouch down a little lower. (When she is weak she misses.)
She is still spending time in the middle of her little recovery room instead of the cabinet, now.
Basically, she is doing rather well. :)
Oh and shot was moved up 15 min from yesterday. Now only 1hr 15min behind her usual time.

WOW !! Keep on little Alice ! :bighug::bighug:
You must really be happy to see how well she's doing!
Wednesday night when I took her home I was in a panic! I am amazed she is doing so well. It gives me a lot of hope. Though, I am trying not to think about the tumor biopsy results next week. :nailbiting:

Hugs and kisses for little Alice. She's doing better every day. Cassandra, I know you are nervous about the biopsy result, but you please don't let it sap your energies. Worrying about "what if" is exhausting. Save your energy to care for yourself, Alice and the rest of the fuzzies. That's quite enough for the moment. Take it one step at a time and you can deal with whatever comes, when it, and if, it comes. :bighug:

I very much agree with this and am working on it moment to moment. Lol.

Also, tomorrow I need to be gone during nadir or else drive her 30-40 min to my dad’s.... his bday and Father’s Day. Not sure yet. Might be able to find a friend to come check in and feed but I don’t have anyone trained to test besides my house human right now.

At what point in the cycle would you need to leave? How long would you be gone?
12-5cst is the schedule for gathering, and her shot time will be moved to 9:45 tomorrow morning if she stays on schedule with no weird PS lows to delay.

So I would be gone from +2 (I would stay late enough to test then), then.... I’d be back around +8. :(

+9.5 331, she seemed a bit lethargic for awhile but now she has come back out of her space.
But it’s a pink day definitely. I expect normal dose at +11.75..... in about 2 hours. :)

How long should her arm be bandaged from the removal of the IV catheter?

Take it off now

First, could you stay home if you absolutely had to?

Next, I think as long as she's not doing a nose dive at +2, you could leave down the appropriate food for her....any chance you have a neighbor or friend who could drop by around +5 to check on her?

PMPS 307 / 4u
Weight: 2.91kg (down from 3.03kg fasting morning of surgery)

She’s not as hungry as usual. But she’s still food-motivated.

Have not caught a ketone test today but I did yesterday and it was normal.

Great job, Cassandra! I know it's been a tough couple of months but you and Alice are doing so well :) I am in awe of your dedication and commitment to Alice!

I really hope the spay and the tumour taken out helps with her numbers.

Thank you both, I will remove the bandage. I think I remember her needing it a little longer after DKA because she was so shredded up it seemed like, but she’s not as weak as she was then.

@Chris & China (GA) I know if she is low at +2 tomorrow AM, that just changes the day completely. But I am trying to find someone to come and feed her. I also do not have to stay gone as long if there is a need to come back. I think I just as of writing this I may have thought of the right person to ask. I just don’t have anyone willing to learn to test her too that has the time lately. I’m working on that!

I also do not have to stay gone as long if there is a need to come back

I can't tell you the number of times I either had to leave early or cancel plans completely.....it took several years for my oldest son to forgive me for bailing out of a Christmas dinner with his in-laws one year, but China dropped significantly at +2 so there was no way I was going over 90 minutes away from home with nobody here to check on her!!

I completely understand. I’ve already been with her for every shot time except my grandmother’s funeral in March. Go home early from many things, etc. I really need to try tomorrow. Or at least bring the cake. :p

It’s not so bad as long as I am in town but family are all 30-45 min away around the metro and rural areas. I’m glad I am not working 40 minutes away now at least. I can’t leave without thinking about her after an hour and worrying a little (unless the human is home with her, I worry slightly less then).

I have secured a neighbor friend who will spend some time over here tomorrow and make sure she eats. :D (But if her +2 looks bad.... welllll..... I’m just delivering a cake then.)

Her fur feels soft like she did some grooming. :)

Can the bupe make her feel crappy? Or the antibiotic maybe? She spent awhile in her cupboard spot today again.

Oh and +2 is 232 so I’m going to try for a +6 and a little nap. Storms tonight are hurting my joints.

I really hope the spay and the tumour taken out helps with her numbers.

This is the hope for sure!
Given that she had surprise ovarian cysts, plus the mammary tumor, I really think those are all signs pointing to hormonally-driven issues. Would be nice if she had a specialist to evaluate everything and explain it all to me but that’s okay because we do our best. :)

Can’t sleep. Going for +5 instead then I will try again..... I have got to figure out one of these days soon how I can get a whole cycle to myself with no worry about Alice and lots of sedation for myself. :\

Sigh. +5 is 126. She is eating LC. I may add a small spoonful of MC so I can sleep, even though she may just very well be fine. I would trust it more if she were having a flatter curve. :\

ETA added about a teaspoon of 13% to a lot more than that of 4%. It’s like she is having 6% at most. It’s motivating her to eat, too. :)
