I know I have a series of missed shots on her SS so far this year. And of course now she has a UTI that somehow I read the instructions wrong on, so she only got one pill a day for a few days, not two. :(

So I bumped her up to 2u then worried I was making a mistake or couldn’t test extra, so I dropped it back to 1.75, but now I just can’t see her this high without doing more.

We moved across the country and that went very very badly all of a sudden and now we are in a motel plus the other 4 cats and a bunny. I feel so awful I gave up a comfy and familiar home she had been at for over 7 of her 13 years, thinking this would give us more opportunities, but it has done the opposite.

I did however receive some ziwipeak lamb to try with her, and her fouls BMs have gone away!!! She’s on an antibiotic so I have yet to be sure if this will improve her fecal score or not since that can cause diarrhea but I am hopeful.

sonce ziwipeak air dries (?) their dry food.... has anyone tried using it? I know all the reasons wet food is better, but I absolutely will not be able to afford the ziwipeak forever. I just don’t have the income opportunities for that.

I realize I should have been posting here more often and getting more feedback from everyone.... I’ve got so hectic, trying to be there to help someone else. It was a mistake because my cats have suffered for some of it. Now we don’t have the same home to return to, and I added two cerebellar hypoplasia bonded brothers to our family, so it’s a lot. (When I adopted them it was with the promise that I would have more support and space and help and stability!)

So, hi everyone, I hope your sweet kitties are doing well. Alice is still pretty happy except I think she has some overall body pain. I was excited being up here so I could find an internist for her, maybe even a veterinary oncologist consult through the university, but back to Oklahoma we go instead. I love our old vet so I’m not disappointed there but.... I sure do not like changing so much so rapidly for all these animals.

I had a pen of insulin freeze on me in a mini fridge I was unfamiliar with, and now I have one current pen plus three that are quite expired (2017 I think).

However, I’m never giving up on Miss Meowliss, and here we are again.

I was thinking of looking into vet tech programs for the fall, too. I think I would enjoy it and could both have more money for animal care and also more skills to help them. <3

When my mom was having open heart surgery and I took China with me to a hotel close to the hospital, I had the same thing happen. I don't know how long it had been frozen and everybody said it would be ruined, but I ran it under some cool water to defrost it. It was all I had without driving all the way home to get more! It seemed to work fine though! Didn't get cloudy or develop any floaties.

So sorry to hear all you've been going through. It's tough enough picking up and moving but to have things work out so badly is just heartbreaking.

Thank you, @Chris & China (GA) . This has been exhausting and I am just pushing through. I have two new beautiful family members out of it and I am learning new things because of them, and I have gratitude for that.

I honestly felt so bad “wasting” a DCIN pen, it was like this big tragedy.... and I was not the one to find it frozen, sub CG did, so I don’t even know what happened to it....
When I get back to my good old vet I love, who has a masters in chemistry and research career history, I will ask her what happens chemically when it freezes and if it breaks something down that... affects the depot action? I don’t know, what else could chemically go wrong from freezing? It would be interesting to know.
If I didn’t have any other pens I would have definitely been in a panic, and surely would have done the same as you.
I need to send you some updates personally, but on the basic side let’s revert back to old vet and other initial info. I’ll message you later. I appreciate your continued support.

Alice has been more irritable lately, overall. That’s a problem I don’t understand yet! Sigh. Quality of life is everything.

I'm sorry things didn't work out the way you thought they would. I hope things will improve soon. I hope Alice's UTI clears up soon. If you can find some D-Mannose it will help clear the UTI up. It binds to the bacteria and removes it from her body. It has helped Furball in the past. You can buy loose power and put 1/4 of a teaspoon in food a couple of times a day. I buy capsules and split them into smaller capsules and give twice a day when I give it. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Where do you usually find that? Her BGLs are so high right now!!! All that glucose in her urine can’t be helping her clear the UTI any better. :(

Thanks, as always, for checking in and giving us a bit of your time. We appreciate it greatly.
