As most of you know, I have been trying to find someone besides DH or myself to give Alex a shot. I have a friend who lives about a mile away from me who Alex and Audrey always liked, however, over the years , we’ve drifted apart (She and her hubby are several years older and we’re just at different places in our lives—no hard feelings, just not as close as we once were. ) So, I was talking to her the other day, and as with most of my conversations, Alex and his diabetes came up and she volunteered to come over and try to give him a shot. True friend that she is, she showed up at 6:30 this morning. I gave her the “talk”. Don’t over analyze this shot, no sweet talking him b/c that just makes him mad, etc, etc, etc. After he ate, he came upstairs into the kitchen where we were, hopped up into a chair and lo and behold, she walked over and gave him his shot! He emitted his typical "ouch/meow", but other than that, no issues.

We were all in shock.

Wonderful news!
congrats...its always a great feeling to know that you have someone "just in case"

That’s great Ginny!!! We still don’t have our sitter on board to do shots. She just got a new puppy too, so dunno. I have to press her more I guess. Tom and I haven’t left the house together for more than 12 hours since January and it is getting tough. No what we were used to.....but it’s become the new normal....

Well, looks like she will become your "new old" best friend again!

Great News!
