Nothing really new to report. Alex is hanging mostly in the 200s and is flat. I guess I'll hang with this dose for a couple more days.
 
It is flat, but the numbers aren't awful. Have we welcomed Alex into the Difficult Kitties Club?

I hope the dental will make the difference. If not, you might look into Levemir or Lantus. You have worked very hard with the ProZinc and don't seem to be getting predictable results, which is so frustrating.

I think the BCP is an interesting idea. I have been wishing someone would try it. You should be able to get a free sample. I know the idea is that it is inconsistent, but I don't see much consistency in the ProZinc......
 
Watch what you wish for with a Dental! Kitty's numbers have increased since her dental!!!! Nothings ever normal at my house!!

I keep forgetting---Normal is a setting on the washing machine! :lol:

Sue, I've often wondered how you and Joanna and Robin keep us all straight in the first place. No need to apologize.

I have a call into my vet. Looks like he needs to request the free sample for me. Hopefully I'll hear from him soon.

Incidentally, my vet already told me that he would be perfectly happy if Alex remains in the 200s. But I want better. I'd be even happier if he could go OTJ.

If you recall, hubby and I have not been able to find anyone else that Alex will allow to give him his shot. We put a calming collar on him one day (and a few hours later, I found it in the floor where he had somehow gotten if off him (Kim finds this very amusing :lol: )) hoping this would make him easy- going about guests in our house or about possibly getting in the carrier to travel. We had the carrier out in the living room for about 5 days and after he stalked it for a day, he then started avoiding the room entirely. Hubby put him in the carrier for 5 minutes on Saturday (some hissing and meowing involved) trying to get him used to it again. While he was in the carrier, Audrey hid and when we let him out, he joined her under the lower level sofa for hours.

Being the optimist my husband is, his plan now for any vacations is that Alex will go into remission and we'll be able to travel.
 
My vet said the same thing....200's are really good...and 300's are ok also???? Nuts! You made me laugh imagining him getting himself out of that collar! And the crate....I have to confine whoever is going in the crate to the bathroom before I even head near it. They all scatter & hide...sometimes even when I just go to get a towel to put in the bottom....I must put out some kind of vibes cause they know what's coming! :lol:
 
I will get an opportunity for a nadir tomorrow, so I'll stick with .8. We have company descending upon us tomorrow. I'm excited about it, but the cats won't be. My cousin and her 3 1/2- yr old and and her 18-month old are stopping and spending the night on their way home.
 
I know I am probably not suggesting anything you have not tried, but have you put your smelly t shirts, catnip, and treatsin the carrier? I SOOOO much want you to be able to get away!
