Hi Everybody,

Hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas. We're back home. We left Thursday with the SUV loaded down with Christmas gifts, our luggage and both Alex and Audrey (both in the same large carrier) and all their "luggage". The most difficult part was catching Audrey and putting her in the carrier. After that, the drive itself was smooth sailing. We took Alex back in October for this same trip, but left Audrey at home. He seemed more comfortable this time--I don't know if it was Audrey's company or his experience. My parents own the house next door to them (it used to belong to my grandparents), so Stan, the kitties and I had our own house. Alex setttled in very quickly. It took Audrey a while longer, but eventually, everybody seemed happy. We returned home yesterday. Audrey was a bit more resigned to having to go in the carrier and again, the trip home was uneventful. The weather was crappy, but traffic was light and the cats did OK.

I recently increased Alex's dose to 1.8, but so far, it doesn't look like it's making much difference. I guess I should give it another week or so under more normal conditions (being home) and try to get some mid-cycle numbers this week. I attribute the mid-400 number last evening to the stress of the trip, but his SS is quite colorful.

I always welcome your input!

Welcome back! My phone isn't.opening ss's today so I can't comment on it, but glad you.had a good trip.

Welcome back, Ginny. I imagine it is good to know that your kitties will travel and it is a doable process. Yes, giving him time to settle back in seems a good plan.

Doable, yes, but not preferable. I have another cat sitter lined up for an interview after the first of the year. She lives closeby, so I'm hoping she'll consider just coming over to visit Alex to get to know him before she decides that she can't handle him. I think I mentioned that DH and I bought into the Marriott Vacation Club early this year (before Alex's diagnosis), but they don't have any pet-friendly resorts.

Hi Ginny
WElcome home and glad you are back!
Let ALex settle into being home again and then I would think about raising
after you have had time to gather more data

Hi! Glad you had a nice holiday and that the travels went well! I was wondering......did Santa bring Alex a calming collar for Christmas?!!! No, I will never get that image out of my head!

Good Luck with the prospective petsitter.
