It seems like this new package if needles gets lots of air in them when I fill the insulin. I'm not doing anything different yet all of a sudden it seems like there is more air inside the needle. I wonder if it is the lube or maybe due to being so little insulin being pulled up?? I do the same process and really flick the needle and still find a bubble of air. So that I don't end up with too little insulin I just fill more the it gets squished out and is okay, but this wastes the insulin (not worried about that) and just wonder if it's the batch of needles I got as this didn't happen the first 75 shots I did.

Anyone else experience this?

You mean In the syringe? What syringes are you using? Some are a lot more prone to bubbles....like BDs.

I use Terumos and occasionally get a few where it's more difficult to get the bubbles out. So I also overdraw, flick, pull in air, expel, repeat, etc.

Yes, syringes and they are BD's.........I do the same but just notice it more now and by the sounds of it probably normal with this MFG. Was just wondering.........

Thanks,
Shawna

We use the Monojet syringes, and you can find many long tales (or is that tails) of woe in LL on the variable quality of these syringes. We tried some others, but the beans were just not prone to change. Lately, the batches of Monojets have been a bit more consistent. We use the technique Marje described to get the air bubbles out.
