I've got 2 older cats (over 15), one with diabetes and one with beginning kidney disease.
First I'm looking for recommended low carb affordable canned food for my diabetic cat, and after reading it would appear that Fancy Feast and Friskies both have classic pate options that would qualify as low carb and be good for diabetics, is this correct? Any other recommendations? Ideally spending $1.50 or less per 5 oz can.
Separately I'm looking for a low phosphorus canned food for my other cat, she's eating Hills Prescription Diet K/D dry kibble right now, but trying to get her onto a wet food she likes (she didn't like the wet version of the k/d). Any suggestions? I looked at the food chart linked on this forum but the felinercf.org list appears to be dated and very small, while the info from catinfo.org lists mg phosphorus/100kcals but doesn't mention what threshold I should try to stay under.
Thanks!
