Thank you! Regular pate for a snack or fancy feast gravy?68 is the "take action" number (high carb time) on an AT2, but you're very close to that, so we may want to give a little snack. Looks like it's mid-cycle now, so that's good.
Test again in no more than 1hr (30mins is fine).
Yes ma’am. He is enjoying his snack.Regular pate for now, but then definitely test in 30mins to make sure he's not still going down.
Thank you. He’s eating FF liver & chicken pate now.Hi Olivia,
Little Bit is currently at a safe number but I'd suggest feeding a couple of teaspoons of his normal food now and test again in 20 minutes to make sure he doesn't drop further (hypo threshold on Alphatrak is 68). If he has drifted down by then you can give the medium carb at that point.

Ah, Nan. You're here. Are you OK to run with this? (I'm in the middle of assisting Patty on a low run at the moment.)

Oh goodness I hope I didn’t give him too much. He was scarfing it down like he was starving. I took the plate away while there was still some left.Just a small snack (couple of tsp) until we know how long we are likely to be going with this-- you want to keep him willing to eat if you need him to do so.

Yes, that is a nice safety measure! I will test again in about 10 minutes.Sounds like you probably won't have trouble getting him to eat! No worries.
Lots of cats get hungry when they start hitting low numbers. It's a nice safety measure!
He is drinking water (which he rarely does)—is that indicative of anything?
LOL he is currently walking around the house smelling around for moreNot that I know of. He may just be wishing it's more pate!

Hoping he won’t go lower!Hmm, still surfing in those nice (but on the edge!) numbers. You can give him another little snack, test again in 30mins or an hour. It's late in the cycle, but I'm not familiar enough with Prozinc to know how likely it is that he's already past nadir, and I can't really tell from his spreadsheet. I'd like to see him start his move upwards before fully relaxing.
You can take the 911 off the title now-- you can always put it back on "fresh" if he dips down low.
So regular food again for snack? It’s possible. Now I feel terrible for not testing him sooner. He has never been close to these numbers before, so this is quite a shock.Yup, just a little low-carb food.
I'm wondering now if he might have gone lower before the +6?
Will I need to drop his dose back down by .25 this evening? Since it was just increased this morning.
I know! Look at him! What a stinker. Caught me completely off guard. Would you suggest reducing back down to 3.25 or maintaining?Well that little booger!Technically no reduction earned but since we don't know if he dropped lower earlier and we were so close to 68 you could probably reduce or maintain. That would be off the books though I guess.

Just tested! 112!How long until your next test? I am going to need to step away for a little while soon, but I'd like to see him moving up before I go...
I was thinking about staying up testing all night, as well. I think I’d be more comfortable dropping back down to 3.25 if it is safe; if not, I’ll gladly stay up with my sweet boy.I don't know about Prozinc protocol but I do know about fatigue. I suggest considering how long you'd be able to stay awake to test tonight if Little Bit dipped down into the same range in your dosing deliberations.

Yes he is and I am so very thankful for you and everyone else for helping us! I wish I could send all of your flowers or cookies or something with our immense gratitude! I am hoping this means we finally turned a corner and he is regulating. Enjoy your errand-running! Had to make a grocery trip today myself—needed fancy feast, of course. I think I need to buy some stock in it.Well, he's in the safe zone at least! Surfing along nicely today, isn't he?
I'll go and run my errands and check back in a bit, but I think he's in a good spot right now.

112 at +8 is good. Can you test again at +9 to make sure he’s still going up? I’d hold the snacks now to see if he’s going up on his own, but you can still give his test treat as long as it’s before +10I gave him another snack. Should that be his last one before dinner? We test in 3.5 hours for PMPS.
Yes ma’am. I gave him some more snack after the last test, though. Would that throw it off?112 at +8 is good. Can you test again at +9 to make sure he’s still going up? I’d hold the snacks now to see if he’s going up on his own, but you can still give his test treat as long as it’s before +10
There is nothing wrong with reducing back to be on the safe side, but I will say these were the first greens to date (hey! CONGRATS) and I would be hesitant to shy away from a dose finally making a difference.@Panic -
If you're still online, Elizabeth, could you comment on this for Olivia, please? Don't have the know-how to help on the Prozinc dosing side of things.

Are you getting the E13! error? That means not enough blood. The thing I liked about Alphatrak is it seemed to suck up the blood and turn on as soon as it had enough blood ... ReliOn will occasionally start processing despite having not enough, which ... is difficult haha. I think even after a year of testing I was still wasting a couple strips each week to E13! errors. Mainly I think it's just becoming familiar with eyeballing that blood droplet and being able to tell if it's going to be enough or not. You can always do two quick pokes next to each other to form a bigger drop as well. This stupid relion meter keeps giving me an error code when I try to use it to compare! Any learning curve I shoild be aware of?
Yes! Dang! I am glad it isn’t just me. I probably had enough blood, but he turned his head and it smeared. Of course. Are you getting the E13! error? That means not enough blood. Ok, I think I’ll err on the side of caution and see what 3.25 does for him after this large dip today. If it were me I might maintain ... but you want to factor in whether you want to potentially pull an all-nighter and/or be testing a lot tomorrow (if you stay on 3.5u and it turns out he DID need a reduction). Totally up to you, I think you have good reason to both reduce or maintain. We can always increase again in a day or two.
Will you be on in the next 20 minutes when I get his PMPS? Thank you! About to test him nowI will.![]()
