Hi,
I'm trying to figure out a new direction to go with my cat, Guinness and his food. He was recently diagnosed with a "slightly" inflamed pancreas based on an ultra-sound. He's never shown any symptoms of a flare up or attack from my perspective, but he recently has come out of a 2 year remission in regards to his diabetes. His vet is starting to think of ways to help him, including pain relief, anti-inflammatories and prescription food. I'm not interested in the prescription food and want to find a ways to help him in that department on my own.
I currently feed, and have fed for the past 2 years, Merrick's Cowboy Cookout (I sometimes add a small amount of other flavors of various low carb foods too). Merrick CC is one of the food recommended for Pancreatic cats, so I'm already doing a lot toward helping the problem.
In the past, I've tinkered with Raw and once used TCFeline Instincts Plus to mix with some premium ground chicken. He liked that, but I found it labor intensive and could never really find any good numbers in regards to protien, carbs and fat for that product. Does anyone out there know if this is a good choice for a diabetic/pancreatic cat? Does anyone know the true values for this premix or another one out there that might be a better choice?
Thank you in advance for any thoughts in regards to these premix products!
