Dallas is getting his dental on Tuesday. We will be leaving around 6:45 (assuming I can get the bugger in the carrier easily this time). I normally get up at 6am, test Cedric, inject the insulin and then feed them. Since Dallas can't eat before his visit, I was going to withhold food from both. Is that ok? To shoot Cedric at 6am and give him food around 6:45?

I would not shoot and then feed later. Things can happen and what if Cedric does not eat? Why not just feed Cedric in a separate room?

Cedric, not eat? Fat chance! this morning he was 356, so I think i will change his shoot time slightly and feed him 30 minutes later, right before I leave. Dallas is the one I'd like to lock in my room, but he's a slippery fellow.

When I have had to remove food for vet procedure, I remove food from everyone. It's the only way that I can ensure the one getting a procedure doesn't get food when not supposed to. I do leave the water out, but I suggest you check with vet if that is ok or not. Some vets don't want anything available and some are ok with water.

The other trick I did and that was because the dentist allowed it and didn't charge - was to take the cat in the night before dental and the vet techs would feed (what I brought) and remove the food at the appropriate time. Of course, being without a kitty or two for the night is challenging for me, but at least I didn't have to listen to the crying, complaining, whining for food.

That may be an option you want to explore too.

Good luck with the dental.

Hey Dallas

Be sure to count your teefies before you go in for a nap. The dentist made me fall asleep and stole my teefies and I can't find them and am so sad!
