Advice needed pls?

Hello,
Tigera had an internal medicine appt this morning and I had to fast her for 14 hours … she got 1/2 dose of insulin this morning (1.50) and after her u/s was complete they allowed me to feed her. After she ate they took her BG and it was 5.5. We came home and I’ve fed her again and her bg is still 5.5 is there any risk she can go hypo? I have an appt to head out to and I’m scared to leave her. Specialist said if her bg is less then 10 tonight for her Pmps not to give any insulin. Just wondering any thoughts pls that anyone can share ? TIA
 
If you want help with blood sugar, please keep your spreadsheet up to date. I have no idea when that 5.5 was, either the first or second one.

You'll also get more help if you report the BG in US numbers. The majority of people here are from the US and don't read mmol/L like we do.

Also, have you selected a dosing method yet? Most people will shoot numbers much lower than 10 (180), but it depends on data you have gathered, dosing method, and ability to monitor.

Ok my apologies I keep forgetting to convert the dang spreadsheet ☹️ I just updated it I don’t understand what you mean by “have you selected a dosing method yet”
 
Sorry for so many questions and guidelines. We usually get people to post first on the Feline Health forum, to get all those things set up before hand. This is a busy forum, so it helps those of us helping others.

Anyway, looks like Tiger gave you exactly 180 (10) and you shot. Well done! I would guess by that +2 that she is starting to bounce now.

hi @ANTONELLA , SLGS translates into 'start low, go slow', and TR translates into 'tight regulation'.

Essentially though, SLGS is effectively 'easier' but less likely to lead to remission, and TR requires lots more monitoring and care, but MAY eventually lead to remission. That said, you are never guaranteed remission, and really the best thing to aim for is a healthy, well regulated cat :)

If you are posting on the Lantus board, I assume you are using Lantus, so you may want to update your signature and change caninsulin to lantus...
