Advice needed BaileyUK AMPS 2.1

Have just taken Baileys bg before I give him his AM shot and he is 2.1 . Have given him a bowl of high carb food,he is not showing any signs of hypo,other than he was waiting for food.
His numbers have been erratic for the past week.
What to as his AM shot is now due,shall I skip this dose??

Wow! What a way to wake up the bean Bailey!

Any readings now will be influenced by the high carb food. Unless you can delay his shot a couple of hours for the effects of the high carb to wear off (and keep the same delay for the evening shot), it's best to just skip. And with that 2.1 (38) this morning, he gets a reduction down to 4.25 as his new dose.

Hi Wendy,Iknew there was something wrong when I came down this morning,and I stupidly gave him a big bowl of HC food!! I shoul have known better.
Do you think I should do the 18hr dose? or should I just miss this dose and resume to normal time tonight? Many thanks for your quick support,much appreciated. X

The 18 hour idea is an excellent idea for getting some insulin into him sooner. It might prevent him from going so high.

Our saying here is feed the 40's, and with a 38, I would give food too.
