I’m trying to transition from freestyle to ReliOn and noticed it requires more blood .5 than freestyle .3. Also, I’m used to “scooping up” the droplet with the freestyle test strip and on the ReliOn manual it says to bring test strip up to the blood and let it “suck it in” but to not dump the blood onto the strip and I’m a bit stressed about having to hold the test strip to her ear waiting for it to collect the blood. Any advice from folks who use it that may help?

Thanks!

I have the ReliOn premier classic meter. When I touch the side of a blood drop the strip automatically sucks up the blood. Yes you do have to make sure you have enough or it will error out. In the settings there is a way to turn on or off the beep and it does beep when it sucks up the blood if you have the sound turned on. In the beginning I did have problems with getting enough blood but in time with practice I very seldom don't get enough blood.

On the strip for premier classic there is a "window" if you don't see any blood in that "window" it will error out for not enough blood. The collecting of the blood is very quick. I have found coming at the side of the droplet helps me.

I have the prime there’s a window as well it just made me stressed out looking at it to see if it was full while trying to get Minnie not to move :nailbiting:

I guess as you said I’ll have to practice and I’ll get it. It’s just a new system I suppose and having to get used to a different way of getting that precious droplet of gold! It worked on my first try today but that’s because there was way more blood than usual and I actually used both meters to compare. I’ll def look up how to turn on the sound because hearing that beep is helpful. Thanks :)

@Patty & Teal'c i think I have finally mastered the ReliOn and I’m happy to say I don’t have to breathe in and out of a brown bag before testing Minnie anymore lol, but cannot figure out for the life of me how to turn the beep on. Nothing in the manual about to and when I googled I couldn’t use the instructions because my meter doesn’t have up and down arrows. Is this the one you have?
