? Advice - cat ate all the cream cheese off my bagel!

I made a bagel, I set it on my desk, and then the dryer sound went off. I got distracted and while I was folding the laundry, Inky got up on my desk and licked the cream cheese off the bagel. It was 31 grams of plain cream cheese (I'm on a diet as well as the cat lol) and the cat ate maybe 10-15 grams of it. She didn't eat any of the bagel. Google says that plain cream cheese isn't harmful to cats in small amounts, but this amount might cause gastrointestinal upset/diarrhea.
Is there anything else I should be aware of with her being diabetic? I have to leave for classes 2pm-7pm, is there anything I should do/give her other than her usual food/water? Can't tell if I'm overthinking this or not. Thanks!

Every concern is valid, just be aware of high carb foods (kibbles) a diabetic cat needs a diet of wet can or raw foods between 0-10% carbs, a feeding schedule of 3-4 t=meals or snack during the day; many members that are away from home, is a good idea to purchase a wet food feeder, some have cameras and chips. Keep posting

Every concern is valid, just be aware of high carb foods (kibbles) a diabetic cat needs a diet of wet can or raw foods between 0-10% carbs, a feeding schedule of 3-4 t=meals or snack during the day; many members that are away from home, is a good idea to purchase a wet food feeder, some have cameras and chips. Hello! Right now I'm planning to buy 2 small cameras one for her litter box one for her food/water area. For now she is eating 70% wet food 30% dry food (percent by calories). I have been meaning to switch her onto all wetfood, however I have a lot of anxiety leaving her home alone. I test her sugar &ketones before I leave, but often give her a snack of kibble next to her wet food so I don't worry as much about her going low while I'm out of the house. I plan on asking my vet about how to optimize her diet for all wet food and low carbs and also for her to reach a healthy weight, next time I take her in for a checkup, which should be in the next month or so.

With regards to the creamcheese she ate (this was an accident), would that affect her differently as a diabetic as opposed to a non-diabetic cat? Thank you!

At least she didn't eat the bagel! We have one member who has to be on constant guard of her bagels. My Neko also had an affinity for bread products, especially those starting with "b" (banana bread, blueberry muffins, baguette). Which definitely raise the blood sugars.

If the cream cheese has no sugar in it, then the only worry is if she's allergic to milk products. But that's the same worry as any cat, diabetic or not. She might get some GI upset.

The transition from dry (high carbs) to wet food (low carbs, needs to be a slow process, since the change from high to low carbs right away can lower the glucose levels so testing often during the transition is recommended

LOL! One of my mom's cats back home loves tortillas and will rip open the tortilla bag to get to them if left unattended. I will keep an eye on her, thank you for the advice!
