Hi Jill and welcome to L, B, & L forum! If you look at the top of this ISG you will see some yellow tagged stickies which you should read. They give all kinds of information about dosing Lantus, how the depot works, how to follow Tight Regular protocol or Start Low,Go Slow method. Lots of stuff to help you on this journey.
Of course we will help you along the way, but the more informed you become will help you to help Noah.
Could you start a Spread Sheet like the rest of us have? And then attach it to your signature. It will help you to see trends and patterns that Noah has on the insulin and it will help us to help you with any dosing questions you may have. The instructions for setting one up are Here
Thank you both!
I'm working on choosing a meter. This insulin and the latest meters are new to me but I was here for years with my beloved Luke (GA) so hopefully I will get up to speed quickly.
Wal-Mart brands Prime, Confirm or Micro are quite popular here. I use the micro as I like the narrowness (is that a word). I usually order strips on line as I hate going to the store here. But it's good to know I can should I ever run out.
I like the Confirm or Micro from WalMart…..strips take the tiniest sample size and are affordable ($35.88/100)
Both use the same strips, so it's a matter of which style you like better. I like the Confirm better because I can get more information on the screen without having to keep changing to a new screen. It's a slightly bigger meter so they can fit more info on it
