Has anyone ever used Chondroprotec for arthritis in cats?
My Vet uses this instead of the Adequan.
I was wondering how they compare to each other.

No personal use with chondroprotec, but Carly is doing well on adequan.

But drugs.com says its mainly a topical. injections are off label. Found this on horse board

Seems that it is very similar to adequan but might not be molecularly exactly the same, but I found references to chondroprotec as the Generic Adequan..dk if thats correct or not. most of these were horse related. Its hard to find cat info about adequan too.

I ordered adequan from petmeds.
When it arrived by UPS the bottle was extremely hot to the touch.

I called Luitpold (the makers of adequan) to ask about it getting so hot during delivery and if it was
still ok to use.

I talked to a doctor there and asked her about this and
she said the adequan is still fine. She said it is "happiest" at room temperture and should never be
refridgerated. She said to always store it in a
dark cool place.

While i had her on the phone i asked her about the
Chondroprotec and she said, "that company has been misleading veterinarians for years! There is no such drug. It has never been proven to help arthritis!"

She said "your vet was mislead!" I told her that when i gave Fluffy the shot of adequan he acted like he had not been stuck; like it didn't hurt at all and with the Chondroprotec he always jumped and i had a hard time giving it to him and she said, "exactly!"

I gave Fluffy the prefilled syringes of what i thought was adequan for about a year.
I would never have know had i not decided to buy a vial to have at home.

Has anyone else here used the ICHON that is claimed to be "generic adequan?"
If so, have you had any problems with it or did you see good results?

Did your Vet tell you it was Adequan when it was ICHON if you purchased it from him?
I think it is very very wrong if your Vet told you it was Adequan when it was
indeed something else altogether!!!
