Hello,
I forgot to post this question on my first post. I apologized for posting my question separately.
My cat Kuro 16 years old was dignosed as diabetic last Friday. He is on 2 units of Vetsulin every 12 hr. I purchased a glucose meter and started taking Kuro's glucose level measurements this morning. Before breakfast, it was reading 133. I was not sure whether I should reduce insulin amount or not (because of insulin injection was started on Friday, I was not sure Kuro's glucose level has stabilized yet or not, and I am very new to the glucose measurement kit). I gave 2 units and have been taking Kuro's glucose level every 2 hours. The reading has been staying inbetween 75 to 80. I am wondering, if Kuro's pre dinner glucose level is around the same as his pre breakfast's glucose level - 133, should I reduce his insulin amount? Or since Kuro has just started insulin injections, the amount of insulin should not be reduced... I called the vet but it was closed for this afternoon.
When I took Kuro's reading, I was expected to get high reading, so I was very surprised. Everything is new and I have been feeling like I am lost, especially today. If anybody would share or provide guidance for me, it would be really appreciated.
Thank you.
