This morning I got my first home reading from Cheekyface :) day 7 since dx and it was 23.6 (424) pre shot.

Now I have to get the s/s working.

I'm so relieved, now I can really start helping her.

You are doing well to have gotten a home test done so soon. It took me about a month of trying.
Hope you are soon OTJ.

Good job. I know you'll find it really interesting to see how the insulin acts in your kitty's body. Now you will know how sensitive she is to carbs and how her bg spikes after eating. This is what really gives you the power to do the best for her.

Dear Lesley, and, of course, you too, sweet Cheekyface (how can anyone not love her name?!?!),

I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. This is a HUGE milestone!!!

Yes, now you can -- and you will...

Welcome to the place you never wanted to be; but, will be blessed for having found, dear Lesley.

Love and as many encouraging hugs as you and Cheekyface can handle or imagine,
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, forever dancing in my heart...

PS: I humbly confess it took me one month and 28 days/nights -- and a glass and a half of chardonney -- before I achieved Vampire Club membership with Giz after she was diagnosed extra-sweet at age 14... Yet, we danced for four years...

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement--I'm afraid we bombed out tonight though  Hopefully I'll get another reading in the morning. I don't want to push my luck by trying too often at once at this early stage.

I think her ear wasn't quite warm enough again...

We'll get there. I'm not giving up.
