try not to laugh but i am looking at all these covers, the fat end, and wondering if any1 repurposes them? i know u can put them back on b4 disposal, but just thinking...they would be great for some kind of craft or something? i hate making trash, so just wondering.
ur laughing right? :-D
ideas?

hahaha :-D
i keep thinking of childhood, and i see like "big gulps" for barbie :D and here they r UTC colors. haha
it would take a lot of kids to use them all tho.

Ooo! Diabetic art! I love the idea! I'm gonna start saving mine and come up with some artsy-fartsy crafty thing!

yay! kp! i had a diabetic in the family from age 9, so i used to give her shots, play with the syringes without the needles, etc. i am trying to remember if they had the covered end on the plunger back then. idk? if so, i am sure i played with them.
they would be good for crafts. im seeing little animal statues with orange ribbed tophats, too.
or glue together in stacks. idk. if i had kids i would figure something out!

Actually, I use the syringe caps (both ends of the cap) for texturing polymer clay. I make pendants that sell in the British Museum in London and the backs of the pendants have a textured surface: the caps from Bert's U100 BD syringes are the best tool for texturing that I've found. After a few uses they get a bit clogged so I throw them out. It's just as well I have a continuing supply!

Edited to add:
Oh, I also use the cap from the plunger end whenever I need a tiny container to hold a mini amount of varnish or paint. Sometimes I only need about half a teaspoonful, and if I put it into a larger container the contact with the air would quickly cause the varnish/paint to set. But the cap from the plunger end of the syringe is just perfect...

thats great elizabeth. cool idea :)
if only i had a kid, i can think of lots of ideas. they would be fun with play dough too.

I kept mine for 'some' reason...danged if I ever figured it out tho', finally gave up. Took them to my neighbor who is now noodling with them...not done anything yet either. She thought about trying to melt them down in low heat in a metal cookie cutter to make shapes like Christmas ornaments or something. I also have a box of colored Beyer lancets with this neat little round top about the size of an aspirin in neon colors. I took those to her also...

I also use them for small amounts of paint, varnish, etc....I had 3 bits of color I needed to use on a trim piece, I buried them in a piece of styrofoam so they'd all stay.

oh cool. the first syringes i had, bought b4 i knew, more expensive, ritzy ones...had clear caps i think. different. not sure.
i still see a "barbie 32 oz size" plastic cup when i look at them. sum1 got some cheap cups from dollar general once, they looked just like a bigger version of these. i loved stuff like that when i was little. i was repurposing b4 any1 knew what it was.
