It seems like one of Fern's ears is easier for me to get blood from. Is this common. I was told to basically alternate ears when doing a BG. But I feel bad. I get blood pretty easily from one the other not so much. Is there a reason why for this. To warm them I use the cupped hand air method. Oh and he past 2 draws I was able to get a reading with needing the kitty straight jacket Fern is wearing in his Avi. (I'll be using it a bit longer for his shots I think.)

I had a similar issue when I first began testing Hannah. Her right ear was very cooperative, her left ear wasn't. At the time, I was just rubbing her ears to help stimulate blood flow. Then someone on the forum recommended using an empty pill bottle half filled with warm water. As I alternated from ear to ear... right ear for one test, left ear for the next, her left ear quickly learned to give a nice blood sample. To this day, she still prefers the right ear, but when that one gets a little bumpy from testing, we switch successfully to the left. Hope this helps. Best wishes to you and Fern.
