Good morning FDMB,
Well, today is a pretty big day for me, my mommabean, and BF bean. This morning marked the fourteenth day since my last insulin injection. That last injection was only a tiny, tiny droplet, and before that I went three whole days without my shot.
I feel really well-probably the best I've felt in years, since my diet has changed and I'm getting what I need from my food. Momma is really happy that I'm not peeing like I used to and that means she doesn't have to scoop the litterbox twice a day. I'm playing more than I have in years and I have a lot of energy. My favorite toy-a soft purple ball which hangs from a string that goes all the way to the ceiling-has been getting chased around many times a day for a while now. Yeah...I own you, ball on a string. I own you. My white and grey fur is shiny and glossy and I've lost some of my tummy and added more muscle, probably because of all the protein I get now.
I want to say thank you so, so much to all you beans here. You helped my momma when she was scared and crying. She felt so guilty for feeding me dry food all those years, like she caused my diabetes. She's crying a little bit this morning but I'm not worried. I think she's crying because she's happy, because I can't feel the scary feelings coming from her. It's not the same kind of crying as last month when she brought me home from the vet. I'm sure of that. All of you had a hand in me getting OTJ so quickly, and without all the things momma learned here, both from reading a lot and from all the advice you gave her, we would have had a much harder time.
So today, I'm inviting you all to stop by and celebrate with me! Catnip's on me, we can all relax and have a great time. There are plenty of toys to bat around, chicken to nibble on, and chin scratches to be had. Let's Party!!
Lots of purrs and headbutts,
Leo (and my mommabean, Kate)
