Hi everyone it has been a while since we posted but wanted to share the news with everyone if you didn't already know we adopted a kitten on Saturday. I couldn't believe myself when one day I started looking on the Internet for another kitty as I am still deeply grieving over the loss of Scrabble. I have been longing for another male companion. I tossed around the idea of getting a kitten vs an adult cat. I don't know what it was but I saw this baby boy on the Internet & he tugged at my heart strings.
Sabrina is my female who is 13 years old. She misses scrabble a lot. I tossed around the idea of getting a kitten and somehow it seemed right. I had heard many stories of people telling me to get an older cat because it would be too much for her to handle but it felt right.
His name is Motzart and he was born within a day or so of Scrabble's passing. He is around 12 weeks old. He is a very loving sweet orange boy! The most adorable guy with a ton of energy! I forgot what it was like to have a kitten, talk about energizer bunny!!
Motzart and Sabrina have been introduced. She hissed at him and he retreated. The good thing about him is he is very respectful of older cats since he was around many of them at the rescue. I am slowly introducing them. I am keeping my fingers and paws crossed that they will develop a relationship. On a positive note, I had him in the den this morning and she walked in, saw him, stared then went and layed in her favorite spot in the same room. I thought that was pretty positive!
I miss all of you so much! I am glad we have Facebook to keep in contact. I check the board at least once a day so even if i don't post i am still checking on all of you!
The past 3 months have been so difficult but I just took them one day at a time. I still cry a little almost every day and Scrabble will always have a piece of my heart. I know he is probably looking down and laughing at the new boy.
Hope everyone is well and I will update once in a while to let you know how it is going. I am trying to add a photo but my iPad keeps saying the image is too big even after I crop it. If I figure it out I will post one otherwise you will have to check Facebook.
