A funny thing happened to Scooter!

Hi Folks:

For those of you who don't know Scooter he was very sick with diabetes for over a year. This forum and the wonderful folks here saved his little old life and he has been OTJ since the spring. He has one large fault and that is he is a carb monster. He will steal anything and he is fast as heck, until last night! :lol:

Since the grandkids have been back to school he has only been able to steal a piece of toast from me which I retrieved fast. So essentially he has been carb free and well for months. Last night as we were watching election results he stuck his head in the chip bag and stole a chip. Alas he had no idea it was dill pickle chips in that little bag! He spit and puked and made funny faces while looking at me with save me eyes. It was the best laugh I have had in a while. :lol: I am hoping he learned his lesson but I doubt it. I hope you all laugh like I did! haha_smiley haha_smiley

That is just too funny! I can picture the face too. He just might be cured of carb snatching. Do they make dill pickle chip spray? I could use something like that to keep Sarge honest around the houseplants. Hmmm....

Hi Linda.

Wonderful to hear from you and know that Scooter is doing well. We tell new members about Scooter all the time when they are hesitating about switching from dry food.

Wonderful story. Cats have good memories, but I kinda doubt it will stop Scooter from snatching carbs - it might just put him off chips! :lol:

He'll probably just stop stealing chips and try to snag your pizza instead.

hahahaha and LOVE the pickle face! I can imagine Scooter doing that!

We had a miniature sheltie when I was a kid that loved to clean under the table. Bless him, he ate my canned peas when i was being forced to sit at the table cuz i wouldn't eat them! But one time someone dropped a piece of canned pineapple on the floor and he ate it without even looking. I remember him having the weirdest "i've been deceived" look on his face! Not the meat he was hoping for!

I'm glad to hear from you guys! I checked Scooter's ss a week or so ago and the last entry was august, he was sick and it said you might be taking him to the vet. Then there wasn't anything and I was hoping beyond hope that he was ok. I'm glad he's just busy snarfing people food when he can find it! :lol:

Thanks for the comments and pictures they made me giggle. Julie it didn't dawn on me that you would all still be checking his chart I will update it promptly! It so nice you are still keeping an eye on us. I wish this forum had a like it button like on FB. :lol:

Hi Linda - and thanks for the Scooter update! Great to hear that he's up to his old tricks - maybe he'll stay away from chips for a while. :lol: Bring on the Cheetos!

It must be a Scooter/Skooter thang.....


My Skooter used to like to try and steal chips...mainly baked Cheetos and baked Doritos.....I have a video on my old phone of him putting his head in the bag of a baked Cheetos and lifting his head up trying to get some....(this is of course before diagnosis).....


Glad he seems to be doing well! Always nice to meet a fellow Scooter/Skooter?
