A decade of diabetes!!

Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've visited, but thought I'd hop on and announce that we've reached the big one! Yes, Korbel has been diabetic for 10yrs this month!
Both Korbel and civvy Calypso will be turning 16 this year, so for more than half of her life she has been diabetic.
She's doing great still, although she is starting to show signs of being 16.
I just wanted to pop in and give the update, I think it's good for new people to see that this really is not a death sentence!
Bear and Guinness (droolers) are still doing well also!

Hi Jennifer - good to see you posting here and soooo wonderful to hear that Korbel is doing so great - what a beautiful kitty she is - love that picture.

Dude is turning 16 this year also - know what you mean about the "age factor" - moving a little slower now - but then so am I so I know how they both feel. LOL.

Congrats to the big 10 year mark - what a great mom bean you are to take such good care of them - keep us posted on you and all the furries. Love seeing this post.

I too think it's up to us to keep giving the newbies hope for the future with their babies and posts like this surely do the job.

Beautiful cat and beautiful story. BUT the star of the photo is that adorable doggy. The expression on his face is priceless. What a great mommabean you are. 10 years is quite the milestone. Congrats. Donna
 
I am so delighted to see this announcement of your 10th anniversary! (That is the caviar anniversary, as you know.) Congratulations to an awesome cat & human.
