Not a huge concern, just a curiosity question. and a realization how much food really effects Glucose Levels.

Princess scores have been all over the place as you can see in my "Glucose Chart" linked in my signature.

Yesterday AM 253 PM 72 (no shot given)
Today AM 356 PM 414 - She did eat a can of Tuna in the morning and throughout the day.

Beyond the Tuna she got a "FastCap" Flea pill (same as Capstar) and I bombed the house with two cans of "Hot Shot" flea flogger so we sat outside for 2 hours today. We are on the tail end of a very long battle with fleas this year. She is an indoor cat accept occasionally sitting out with me grilling on the concrete patio. But killing off fleas (2nd time ever I needed too in 14 years) has been a pain, nothing really worked - next time I am CONSIDERING getting her the 30 day vet pill "Comfortis)

I thought Tuna had no carbs?, I know Pink tuna is not very good for her, but I thought I read White Tuna was... Am I wrong?

PS: Lately she has been eating 3oz can of Fancy Feast Classic in the AM, and one in the PM

As always, love all the help.

PS: I got her first glucose in one prick at AM, but PM again took 3, Does it matter which side of the ear you prick the edge on? I am going from the outside but wonder left or right makes a difference from the outside?

With the low number last night she could be having a bounce. Sometimes those take a while to clear and can lead to some really confusing numbers for up to a couple of days.

bounce like chris & lucy said more than likely.
could also be flea pill, tux temporary spikes up (i think it was 40 or so points) on days when we give him a wormout deworm pill.
which ear don't matter, i only use right ear cause that's the one that has bled great from the beginning and i prick on fur side so it hides the temporary prick marks.

oh forgot to mention. instead of a flea pill, why not use the squeeze stuff instead. we use actyvil now, it doesn't just kill the fleas/larva/eggs but, actually stops the flea cycle so they can't reinfest pet or environment. dries fast and has no scent other than initial alcohol scent that evaporates fast.

Side note... tuna is okay for an occasional treat, but too much of it can cause mercury poisoning. If it is albacore, that has three times more mercury in it than skipjack tuna.

I am reading up on actyvil now, I have tried a variety of the drops on her back scruff, (as well as Food Quality diametric earth, Carpet Powders, Sprays, Flea Collars, etc) and recently tried Advecta (same active ingredients used in Advantage II), the first time did not work great, I think I was putting it too far up neck and she was reaching it and cleaning it off, the second time (the last time) it seemed to work great, it was 30 days and dealing with the Diabetes I did not get a chance to bomb the house (2nd time), I like Capstar (or FastCaps the generic I was using) as it seems to kill them for the day, so in what I was hoping was my last attempt I bombed the house and gave her a capstar to kill complete off the remaining cycle. I HOPE !

I need get better at getting blood for her Glucose, sometimes it works with (1) prick, others it seems to take me 2 or 3 times before I draw blood and she hates it when I try to squeeze a little, I still have not found the right treat for her, at least AM and PM Tests I feed her right after and she feels rewarded and barely can tell I give her a Insulin Shot.

I am doing AM Glucose test then meals at 11AM (243) I did get a 2PM today (165) EDIT: Her 11pm prefeeding Glucose score was (168) I am surprised not higher !!!!

NOTE: I am letting her eat all day except for 2 hours before meals and her glucose tests before them.
