well another little dilemma has developed. The past two days when I have tested Rex he is getting very cranky about it. I would normally put out just a tiny bit of treat to get him to come to the testing spot. The last two nights he stands afar and looks at the treat but won't come close to get the treat and turns around to run and hide when he sees me sit in the testing spot. I have gone to get him and given him the treat (usually hamburger). Yesterday he ate it but tonight he didn't even want to eat it, just wanted to get away. I sat him down on my lap both nights and got swatted at and some growling and lost a little blood of my own. I still managed to get the tests done but not sure how this is affecting the numbers (tonight they were higher than they typically have been lately) and really don't want him to get to the point that when he sees the treat (which obviously at this point is NOT being considered a treat anymore) he wants to retreat. What do I do? Take a break from it for a few day? Or? I finally thought we were in a comfortable routine. He was so good and seemed calm and was very cooperative. It was getting to be so quick and easy. Not sure what changed.
