I thought Lantus was a slow acting insulin! Is he going too low with just a little dose increase? I mean..I like it, but isn't it too fast?

Nice to see progress. :) Sometimes kitties will show progress on the first cycle. Congrats on the first yellow preshot.

It is slow acting...which makes the effects cumulative.

Its not an insulin for shooting down high numbers.
Probably the biggest challenge when changing from a non depot type of insulin, like caninsulin, to a depot type of insulin (which Lantus is) is to forget the ways of caninsulin. With Lantus, you likely will not see the effects of a dose increase (or decrease) in the first cycle. In time you will get a feel for Bacadris BG rhythm on Lantus. Patience is key.

Yes! that's even more exciting - what a difference. Even now at the beginning we have already goten rid of the terrible, terrible bouncing and those very frequent black readings. Looking forward to see the increase really kick in. I kind of enjoy the whole "patience" thing after the rollercoaster we used to have on Caninsulin:)
