Yesterday's Condo

Suspect these high-numbers are food related. Turns out, the friskies I got him has the same carb content as Grammy's Pot Pie, which is high for him. Melted a full bag of kitty cubes which will get us through until I can make him food this weekend. Just need to get out the venison and get it measured so I know how much ground beef to buy so we have the right proportions. Also have to pick up some liver.

So, lesson learned last night? I'm pretty sure relaxation CDs also work on cats. I turned mine on when I went to sleep last night and was just about out, when I happened to open one eye and peered over Willie, who was (as always at bedtime) laying next to me. He was COMPLETELY sacked out, just downright floppy. I put my hand on his side and he didn't move, and I couldn't feel anything moving, so I panic and loudly wake him up. The look I got! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: He then put his head back down and again, just flopped out. Woke him up one more time to make sure, then let him go back to sleep, all stretched out, with a big grin on his face.

Of course, at that point, I was pretty much anything but relaxed.... At least I'm amused this morning!!

Hi guys .. sorry to hear about the higher carb food for willie, but not a bad start to the day .. I can see why the relaxation CD would knock out willie .. Elvis does it to mocha, especially the song In the Ghetto .. does it every time :lol: have a great weekend guys!

ECID! I can't feed Tess any more than 6%, even when she is low. :roll: And a lot of cats love FF Turkey and Giblets, supposed to be 3%, but it seems to spike nearly every one. And now I's got 10 cans from one of those package deals! ohmygod_smile

Try the CD next time he wants breffis at 3am. :lol:

Well, boo hiss on these numbers! We've been at this dose for 3 days, so I've bumped him back up to 0.5u. I'm not exactly surprised... he never seems to hold at 0.25u anyway, plus the carbs. I went ahead and dosecreased him today as I should be around much of the weekend. Found an orchard maybe an hour from here with honeycrisp apples, so may go on a bit of a roadtrip to get some of those. Depending on the cost of supplies, I may try to build a raised planter box this weekend as well. One of those weekends with lots I could do, but nothing I really HAVE to do. My birthday is Monday, and I'll be working that day, so at least I get to enjoy the weekend!

Willie is chillaxin with me on the sofa, though I suspect he'll be headed back to Camp Stu soon!

Ann, I hear ya on the carbs. We actually use Grammy's Pot Pie as a relatively high carb. Didn't realize the Friskies Mixed Grill pate was that high! :-x :-x Thankfully, I had raw to get him back to. We'll make a new batch this weekend. I figured out that making multiple batches was easy if I treated it like meatloaf mix and whipped it all together in a big nonstick roasting pan. Having a bigger kitchen with more workspace AND a dishwasher has really helped as well!

I'm actually lucky... Willie very seldom decides to wake up in the middle of the night. Generally, he sleeps the whole night curled up next to me. I am spoiled. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I can't believe it!! The EXACT same thing happened to me! I bought the Friskies Mixed Grill and Poultry Platter thinking they were 4-5% and found out, AFTER I FED IT TO HIM, that they're 7 and 8%!! Who knew. I used some today to pull his numbers up because I certainly can't feed it to him as an LC everyday food. I'm sure he'll make his way down for you. He better...you've got insulin and you're not afraid to use it!!

When I go out for a long period of time, I leave the soundscape channel on for Moonie with calming New Age Music--They both always seemed to love it--I know they like Celtic Woman music! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
