Hi all
Just wanted to do a quick share of a bead I had made with some of Gussies ashes. I found an amazing artist on ETSY who wasn't charging four paws and a tail to do these beautiful beads.
Anyway, I think it is gorgeous ( tho prejudiced I'm sure!, it is all after all Gussie)
Set it with some findings and another bead I had squirreled away in my cupboard. Gussies bead is the large one:bighug::cat::bighug: the photo doesn't really do it justice..it is intricate, complex and beautiful, just as Gussie was

You find the most amazing artists Leslie. Good to hear from you. :bighug:
Thanks Wendy! It's really nice to be back amongst family here:bighug::bighug:
I kind of stumbled on this gal and she was amazing. Strange thing, when I sent her Gussies picture and story, she was shocked. You see, she had a big orange cat who could have been Gussies dopplegänger, and his name was...Gus! She shared a photo with me...seems meant to be that she did Gussies bead. Her Gus was at the bridge too. There is something so comforting about the feel of the glass on my heart...and I lucked out already having the findings to make it wearably unique!!
Good to see you Wendy!!:bighug::bighug:

Leslie, I'm so sorry for your loss. But the bead that you had made - that's so, so beautiful! I've looked for ways to keep ashes or even some fur made into something when it's that time for Girlie so that I could feel her close to me, still. What a beautiful, beautiful idea... :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks all! Some may remember I had a ring made..it just worries me that the stone will pop off and I'll lose it and the Gussie things incorporated into it...I have a really high track record of losing precious things...:(

I had had beads made for my other two cats Buster and Jett Sr. ( bottle fed siblings I had from 3weeks to 21 and 19) and knew I wanted one for Gussie, just had not found the artist yet. It had to be special, I mean really special.. For me, the feel of the weight of the bead and the way glass warms to your skin is a really tangible connection to the being who is a part of it.
Thank you all for liking it! Gussie would be pleased! He was one of a kind, and I miss him something fierce. Irascible, do it on his own terms, wonderful cat.
I will write a tribute when I can, I promise! I'm just not there yet...
So I will raise a glass to my boy instead..( hee hee that's a double entendre as his bead is glass! I think I got sun stroke working on my patio, sorry:p)
Thanks all:bighug::bighug:for all the support you have always given and for taking my boy into your hearts the way you did..was a heck of a wild roller coaster ride we took together:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

(((((Aw @Bobbie And Bubba ))))
You're gonna make me cry you keep that up:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss:
I miss you guys too, Lots.
Hope Bubba feels better, gotta keep the king on his mount! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Think of Bubba each time I check Jett's eye.
Here's his latest leopard look...I'm a bit nervous about our next check up. It's starting in his so far good eye too..

How gorgeous!

Love Gussie's glass bead. It's so very beautiful, and intricate. That's awesome that it warms when worn next to your heart. :cat:
Thanks for visiting :bighug:

Such a beautiful bead for Gussie! I'm so glad you found the perfect artist. I'm a retired lampwork beadmaker myself (combination of induced tendonitis and burn out), but I don't think I'd ever have the courage to try capturing the essence of love the way this artist was able to do for you.

Aw thanks Amy..I took a couple of glass classes, and once I did, I had a whole new appreciation of artists who work in that medium! It is not easy!
She really did do a beautiful job!

Les, Gussie's bead is gorgeous, as is the whole necklace! A perfect tribute to a very special, unique kitty. How perfect that the beadmaker also had a big, orange Gus, seems like it was meant to be! When his bead warms next to your heart, you can be assured that is the warmth of the love you and Gussie will always share. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
