Last condo

Both of my boys are starting the weekend with nice numbers.... despite the fact that there is a new puppy in the house. Her name is Magnolia and she is one of the dogs that our shelter took in from Texas. She is about 4-5 months old, very skinny and she has so little muscle mass in her back end that she almost walks like she has neuropathy. She is also coughing and has demodex mange. Needless to say, she is pretty pathetic.

I figured that she needed a foster home the most and that she would fit in fine with my zoo. My dogs are all very sweet and gentle with her. She was very scared yesterday, but is starting to play a bit today. So far, she has only met one of my cats (Sassy) and did well, but I didn't want to totally overwhelm her.

Thankfully, it's demodectic rather than sarcoptic mange - so it's not contagious. They already started treating her at the Beaumont shelter. One of my own dogs, Einstein, had mange too as a puppy, so I am used to giving lots of medicated baths.

She probably hasn't slept that soundly in weeks.

I thought the same thing! She has brief bursts of puppy energy, but she is definitely catching up on her sleep.
