Good afternoon all,

A very hectic week due to replacement of all the windows and don't have the time to update.
The BG level for Jessica has been up and down, but I can see that she feels a little bit better.
In the past, she always lay down and tire. Last couple of days, I saw her more energetic.
This week everything should be back to normal since almost all of the windows have been installed.

However, I discoved that there was insulin coming out after the injection. It may because the dosage is relatively large (6.25U).
After injection, I try to make her lay down and stay put as long as she can, so as to prevent the insulin from coming out.
Can someone tell me what should I do?
I tend to inject at the scruff area since It has loose skin and more fat.

You might gently pinch the skin where you injected. I've done that on dehydrated kitties getting subQ fluids. Is she at all dehydrated?

Hmmmm...I've not heard of that happening. I can give my CKD kitty 150 mls of fluids and it doesn't leak out so 6.25u should not.

Are you using long or short needles or the Terumos which only have one needle length?

BJ had a good suggestiin wirth trying. What gauge needle are you using? If you aren't using 31g, perhaps it will help to try that.

Also, Wendy/Neko thought it might help if you looked at my post on Testing and Shooting Tips. She also thought the insulin was leaking out of Neko and then realized she was giving fur shots. She started using the roll method described in the above post and it resolved the problem.

Try those first and if it persists, let us know. There might be a few other options.

Thank you, BJM and Marje.

Jessica drinks a lot water so dehydration should not be a issue.
Marje, I'm now using BD 31G 5/16 or 3/8" needle. I forgot the excact length.
I will try using the roll method will let you know the result.

Thanks again.
