Thanks! For BD, I have seen people use either 1.4 mm or 1.5 mm. What is most important is that you stay consistent to you, not to what other people do. FWIW, I did 1.5, but the BDs I was using had a ton of room under the zero line so Neko's dose was often under the zero line. Thank goodness for calipers!
Looking good Gordy, be safe!

On the other side are smaller arms used to measure the insides of things. I used those on the BD's.
i just really luke reassurance LOLWe got a 05.0 It could be different with your Relions. That is the beauty of the calipers. They make up for the indiscriminate marking on most syringes.+3=107
Foo bump it is!
@Bobbie And Bubba Thanks for the tips! I actually made a cheat sheet for my Monojects. I am just absolutely terrible at doing the initial measurements. =/ what did you end up using for a 1u on your Relions? (I got 1.25mm...)
What do you mean 05.0? My Relions are also 3/10, 31g, 1/2 unit, 8mm and can hold 30 units. We got a 05.0 It could be different with your Relions.
(even though I have had serious issues with bubbles lately)Sorry, I meant 0.050 for 1 unit with the Relion. But remember, your starting point could be different. Just use the top of your plunger even with the zero line and look at the video. Once you find a syringe that has the zero line even with the top of the plunger ( like in my photo) go from there and use that as your model. What do you mean 05.0?
Sorry, this might not be a good pic to show what I am saying.View attachment 30902 Here's a pic of the plunger being wvenwith the zero line.
It would be easier of the companies provided consistent product There is insulin in the syringe below the zero line, ie. poor markings on the syringe. The zero line was not at the place the plunger stopped. I measured as much as almost 1/2 of a unit of insulin (by counting drops), in the syringe between the bottom of the zero line and the place where the plunger stopped. For several months, Neko's dose was below the zero line and she was still getting insulin.I am not sure Wendy meant in the post above.
This is why I say, find a syringe where the top of plunger pushed in in exactly flush with the zero line, and then use that syringe as your model . After , you get the calucations, ignore the lines for that brand of syringes and use your calipers. There is insulin in the syringe below the zero line, ie. poor markings on the syringe. To measure using calipers on the BD's, note where the plunger stops and use that as the zero line. Note, not all BD's were that bad, some were pretty good about the zero line placement, but some weren't.
