Just realized it was almost 3 years to the day that Chris (China) stayed up with me thru some scary low numbers ...yall are crazy wonderful people :bighug:❤️

Elmo is currently licking and cleaning himself as I have not seen him do in a long while. This made his momma bean cray cray but he has enjoyed his feasting immensely !

Gil, how long have you lived in Spain and what brought you there, if you don't mind my asking :)
Well we moved here from the UK 8 years ago, George came with us, he's a British Kitty.
No real reason to move other than we were ready for a different experience, I'm from Gibraltar originally, so I have family a couple of hours drive away too.

When George had his fast drops he would start licking and grooming himself like crazy once he was done dropping, usually up until that point he would sit by his food bowl and not move away until his BG was coming and staying up.

Wanted to ask what % is the food you are calling MC?
Just wondering?

Looked on Dr Lisa chart and wrote down /shopped for all the FF and Friskies I could find locally ...seems Elmo is little hard to get to come up so need to get high HC ...time to test ...

I will do housekeeping on thread title and ss tomorriw ...is the coast clear for me to get some sleep ?

Was told MC was 11-15 and HC 15-20 with gravey
That's correct.
It's just that early you said your HC was 14% (which is high end of MC) so I wondered what % the food was you were feeding that was MC

George was hard to bring up when he started on a slide too. I didn't usually fed HC unless he was under 50, there may have been one or two exceptions to this, but not usually
173 at +8.5 ....wheeew, now he's snoring :joyful:

So we are one hour after HC food, I think next test at +9.5 and if he's still up then you can catch a nap before amps. since the carbs can wear off after two hours we wan't to be sure he doesn't crash when that happens. If he'd been clearly bouncing then we could have said night night , but not with these numbers as he is just holding steady.

+ 9.5 ....got it ...that will be one hour from now , correct ? I am strangely wide awake but brain is fogged ...thank you to the moon and back for coming on when you did ...a great blessing to Elmo and I . His two Fairy God Mothers, you and Linda , saved the day ....er night  ....see you in ab 50 minutes :bighug:

yes, no need for thankyous, someone was here for me once too. LOL I'm just imagining us both in a tutu and waving a wand:joyful::joyful::joyful:

Sorry didn't finish explaining this.
If he dropped fast early on in his cycle, I would usually give between 9-14% carb, depending on how close to the low greens he was and how fast he was dropping.

With the numbers you were getting today (and because George was always a good eater)
I would have given him some LC snacks at those drops when he was in the yellows (but higher low carb 9%) and then MC 14% when he was in the blues. I also found that although gravy would bump him up a bit (he wasn't very ccarb sensitive/ funnily that changed when he came out of remission this last time) it never really sustained him much so I would squeeze gravy but always add some food as well. As I say he was easy in that he is such a great eater.
I don't like to use HC unless it's needed (under 50 usually) since we don't want to mask the need for a reduction. That could land us in a sticky situation.
Does that make sense?

Love all the good info ...yes it makes wonderful sense. And I bet you thot I'd fallen asleep  I actually have my alarm set for 5 just in case I drifted off while sitting up . The wealth of info , wisdom and experience is the blessing of this Board ...helping Elmo and I not once but twice. Such a gift ❤️

I see Elmo has been keeping you on your toes. I hope he keeps surfing safely and doesn't bounce.
Good morning Carla !!! We are up early to catch you before work :bighug: Yes, we need huge Carla prayers for NO bouncing :bighug: Happy " Wednesday" to you :bighug:
