Not a bad preshot this morning. I kept Doogle locked in the bedroom last night while the herd ate and I think it helped keep his numbers down, so will try it again. Maybe that is why his numbers have been blah. Gotta run out and pick up some food for one of the babies who is a picky eater (she will only eat flaked or textured food, no pates).

Sorry didnt get a chance to post his +6 number, was helping a new person on FB about feline diabetes (hopefully she will join the group like was suggested). So we need to go up tonight dont we? Kind flat in these yellows.

Yeah, it looks like an increase is in your future ...whether you take it tonight or in the morning depends on how you feel about tests in the middle of the night if necessary

Yeah I thought I would do it tonight since Doogle likes to stay higher at night unlike some that like to go low (such a drama king). Lets hope for the best!!!!!!

Yeah the DH was just questioning why we are going up tonight. He was like, he has good numbers and I told him they are ok but not good enough. He really freaks out and is afraid worse than I am about Doogle going to low.

Remind him that anything over about 230 can increase the likelihood of ketones ..and you don't need those

Doogle has had a lot of numbers at or above the renal threshold, so he needs more insulin to try to get out of those yellows/pinks/reds

Sorry. That's not an accurate statement. 230 is roughly the number for renal threshold. It's best to try to keep our kitties below their renal threshold.

I think Doogle would do well with an increase in the AM.

I remind him all the time but he thinks he knows it all and I am stupid. I really dont want to go through the pain I went through in June...believe me, he is going up no matter what....LOL

So went up on the dose without a fight from the DH (he was distracted with something else...lol). So lets hope this gives him the boost he needs.

230 is roughly the number for renal threshold.

Yes, I agree...that's why I had said "anything over about 230"

ECID I totally agree about too. The renal threashold for cat A could be 200...cat B could be 270...but the reason I made the statement to begin with was just to give her something real she could tell her DH about why the numbers weren't so good.
