Re: 9/8 Reuben PMPS HI!

Oh Reuben! You are such a silly boy! We really like you in the greens, but we prefer that you stay between 60-120. :-D Good job, today, Alexa! You sure are becoming a pro at this...kind of wish you didn't have to keep going through it! Maybe once you figure out his feeding/diving patterns, like Marje said, these "scares" will taper off and he'll start figuring out the flat curve and come down to pretty color land! Hope you guys have a nice, early night.

Re: 9/8 Reuben PMPS HI!

Hi Alexa, You are really doing great and getting a lot of experience using food to steer him into the right zone. It amazes me how much people food is bad for cats, though I imagine cat food would not do us much good either and no plan to test that theory  .

Now I need to have a quick word with Reuben.
Hey Reuben, HI again? Seriously? When you keep Alexa up day and night poking and gourmet cooking for you and sleeping with the litterbox for you, show her some appreciation please and not by getting HI. She is doing a grat job taking care of you and solving one puzzle after another to get you healthy. So give her a break, she deserves it.

I hope you and Reuben have a calm uneventful or less eventful night before getting back on the thrill ride that is Reuben's roller coaster.

Re: 9/8 Reuben PMPS HI! +2/310

Alexa,
At what point does your meter give you a reading of HI? I think with my micro, the line is at 600...
In other words, did you just get a drop of 300 points by +2?

Carl

Edit- saw the meter type in Reuben's profile but not familiar with it.

I will confess to trying Bob's Pure Bite freeze dried shrimp  What can I say? Shrimp is my favorite food ever:-) I can report that they taste like crap  Don't understand what he enjoys about them at all.

Re: 9/8 Reuben PMPS HI! +2/310 +3/221

Hihihi, omigosh, i just dozed off and um... i guess i better not!

Carl, the meter says 'HI' over 500, so it was at least a 200point drop in 2 hours and a 300 in 3 hours. I guess I better encourage a meal... Thanks for the Yoda voices link, great stuff, and now I know exactly what Dale wanted me to hear, very cool! Haha, I can just imagine you trying one of Bob's shrimp, and him looking at you like 'Really?'

Leslie - you are so sweet! Let me clarify that he has the bed allllll to himself; I now sleep on the couch (which is extremely comfortable) And yeah, bad news about the tuna because I use the tunawater as the delivery system for his medicine. What the Heck am I going to do Now??? Syringing is not a good option because it makes him upset, and he really doesn`t need to be more upset than he already is.

Testing time, back in a sec.

Re: 9/8 Reuben PMPS HI! +2/310 +3/221

I guess you could make your own tuna juice ( or some fish) or even cream of tuna soup really watered down.
At least you could add all the supplements to it. And freeze it in 100 little tiny tupperware containers???

As if you don't have enough to do already. :-D

Rhiannon --- Hahahaaaaaa, 'a hundred tiny little tupperware containers' LOL , I love it!! Well, I think I saw some quite expensive cans of gourmet tuna a Costco, so maybe they will be unsullied by soy...

Marje - Well he did the same dive now in the PM cycle, but starting from higher up, so I am just letting it follow it`s own path since I assume it will stop in the blues... Hmm I wonder if I should have slowed it anyway, just to help his organism get used to smaller leaps?
In the morning I will test at +1 and feed to slow the descent (I assume we will be starting from a lower number). And thank you for the heads up about the tuna. I had been wondering quite a bit about it... I really appreciate your stopping in to help us out, Marje - Thank You  Alexa

Melanie - It`s a really good grinder actually, the Deni 3500. The motor is incredibly strong, much stronger that the moving parts - it doesn`t stop when something is stuck but simply strips the seating where the blade goes. So yeah, if I had recognized that something was stuck I would have turned it off. I am a dunce!!

Okay, he`s going to surf yellow and blue. I'm going to sleep!

Wow - I missed a great surf and nice handling of his numbers. That bounce at the end, what Marje said, there's not much to be done once Mr. Liver does his thing. Try not to get discouraged at that. Her advice about the +1 is also very good from our experience ... when Leo is falling pre-shoot, he generally tanks about +2, and the +1s were very informative.
