Good morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) uhhhhh - still not enough of those...

We, aka Mannie, didn't make green yesterday, but still a great day for him. We wavered between yellows and blues for the AM cycle, we making our way down to low blue with the PM cycle - I did feed 7% MC at +4, +5 as I wanted him to ease on down into the blues again, see if I could get him to surf that, bring up an amps in the blues, and in theory move forward today with blues, maybe green surf. We shall see how well :lol: I did. So far - looking good: amps at 151, +1 at 163 - and SURF MANNIE SURF! cat_pet_icon

Mannie seems to be sliding into his fall weather routine - there must be some internal clock that says to him: Fall!, and lets bunker down in all those toasty warm places to sleep and hang out. and so he is. Back to the fleece beds and blankets and the out of the way hard to get to places. Interior is still methodically patrolled in the morning, the outdoors is getting the abbreviated version. He still insists on the exterior patrols and perimeter security - but has he speeded it up. :lol: Today is a good morning for him: so many purrs and greetings and head rubs. Breffis #1, and #2 eaten, no crumbs left. Bathing done with gusto, napping now in progress....

and oooooooooooooo! Auto feeder used for breffis #2 - went on his own: hooray! A small victory for the bean! we shall see if he finds/hears/uses/does for breffis #3. paws crossed!

have a great Wednesday everyone! Chore day here, and house cleaning. oh fun for me. :roll:

My kitties are already sleeping in the closets, their fall/winter beds! Their internal clocks amaze me.

Sounds like a nice laid back fall day for Mr. Mannie so far!

Fall seems to come and go here....for a few days we had some nice breezy cool days and chilly evenings and then yesterday we had a 93 degree day. Today seems to be heading to the warm side, but I'm not sure since I am stuck inside here at work. However, last night Spot jumped up on the bed around 11:15 pm and stayed until 1:00 am, got up for his snack (of course I had to give him a private escort), came back to bed, woke me up at 3:30 am for another private escort, and when I woke up at 5:30 am, Spot was again back on the bed. Very unusal, but oh so nice!

Have a great day doing house chores, Michelle and tell Mannie I would like for him to surf today, also!!!

Hey, Mannie....just saw that there is going to be a new moon party tonight! Cool!!! I got my spice sack all replenished and ready to go...just let me know what we will be grillin'! I am so there!!! C-ya later, bud!......Spot

I'm hoping blue surf, but well - doubts, so will get a +3, and if we're headed down then +3 breffis/snack will be a higher carb. If only cuz I am headed into Seattle this afternoon to see friends, and although I love the greens I really would like to see him surfin' the blues. ah what is it they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? :?

Shessshhhhh Deb - your Spot sounds like my civvie Elsa - always with the wakeups, and the hair grooming (mine) in the middle of the night. I like the attention though. ;-) Not too sure about the other civvie though, who will, starting at 3AM, come and sit on me, claws extended and starts the shoulder kneads. OW! :shock: She seems to think she needs to be fed then, uh noooooooo. HAHA: no escorts for her. :lol:

Hey Spot! YAY!!! You will be at the new moon party! No one does spices better than you! I hope to hear from master chef Stu so that we can put together a menu. I'm thinking some grilled smoked salmon, woods chips in the coals, - very autumnish - and well --- I LOVE salmon as well as shrimp - better when they are fresh caught. 148 @ +4.75. no food this time. liking this blue surf. I will test him again at +6 to see if we are still in the same range, food to be given if needed. Nice job Mannie - keep surfin' buddy so mom can go and do her thing...

Hi Barb - hear ya on the food thing. It took me a while to learn how Mannie responds, and what I need to do, food wise, to keep him on target for the day. There have been days when I have things I have to do, and I will feed him, small small amounts to get the numbers I need. I will say though that feeding mini meals at the front end of the cycle, rather than every 4 hours, has made a huge difference in getting Mannie away from his infamous dives and bounces. Today I need to be gone for a while, and am more comfortable to have him in the blue range. It was apparent this morning that we were headed to the greens by mid day, and although I really want them, do not want to have him alone while descending - so elected to have him surf blue, fed more often than normal, with a slightly higher carb food: 7%, to keep him there. Hopefully it works, and I haven't triggered higher than desired numbers. guess we shall see.... :roll:

What a nice blue surf. I think I need to figure out the food for Blackie like you have for Mannie. Now that we don't have someone home all the time, I am really worried about Blackie going low. You seem to have it figured out!

Hi Ele! I hear you on the worry while one is gone. It took me some time to figure Mannie out, and what to do to control the numbers, when I can that is, there are days when he truly controls all. I am fortunate in that I am home most of the time, and can watch when I need to. Will admit though that if I have something that I can't skip, or simply don't want to, I will feed him what I know will keep him where he needs to be, and hopefully eliminate the low and the dives. Mannie is such a diver. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't.... Good luck - and there is power in food, and when it is given. :-D

Hey Blackie - I am SO GLAD that you are coming to the new moon party! It will be so nice to see you. I think we will have quite the crowd. Lots of good company, lots of good food. YAY! See you there!! ~~ Mannie

Just no diving OK? - tomorrow is a hike day, so slow and steady - aim for the low yellows and your bean will be very happy.....

And thanks for the tasty food and trying to convince her wet is the best....it seriously worked (like so well, I almost wonder if these kitty parties actually DO happen :shock: :lol: ).

They might not actually happen (and hey, how do we know what they do once we go to sleep?!) but I do definitely believe in the collective will of a group of people. Maybe all the people who were writing, wishing, and thinking about Duchess learning to accept and like wet food made it happen. Either way, it's great news. :-D

Hi Carolyn - and Sarah too! wow - that is absolutely amazing - I am so glad at Duchess is now a fan of wet food. YAY! There is alot to be said for the power of collective will. Good job Duchess! and Mannie is so happy that you came to the new moon party.

And thanks Carolyn - Mannie has been doing so much better - so nice to see!

267 at +4. I am glad that he decided pink was not the place to be. YES! And now I hope he will be good through the night, and give me a AM number that I can feel safe with, so I can go on an hiking adventure tomorrow. Paws crossed for his bean. Thx big guy!
 
Sorry to pop in so late....what a different 12 hours makes!! Mannie was looking great in the AM and then, what....PINK for PM? Where did that come from?? At least he was able to find those yellows again though!
