AMPS 114

I LIKE that AMPS but I know the reason...the usual...he didn't eat overnight. Seems like he's had an upset tummy every morning lately - wonder if that is because he doesn't eat too? He eats all day off and on but after that 9pm food/shoot, he doesn't eat again until morning. He didn't even want dog food this morning! He ate a bit of fresh chicken, enough to shoot but that's about all. We'll see what the day brings as I DID shoot that dropping number.

DAKOTA
AMPS 275

Still extra-sweet Dakota this morning. I only held the 1.25u dose for a day, I know he needs more than that so upped it to 1.5u's. I WILL hold that 6 cycles. I'm becoming a bit concerned as to why he's camped out in those numbers. He acts like he feels well, eyes bright and clear, coat soft and shining, bit of dandruff but that's from the high bg's I'm sure. Definitely all 5 P's in place for him! He's already been laying on his side popping his trim piece and grinning when I glance down the hall at him.

Oh what a BLESSED day I had yesterday!!! It was a NATURE NON-STOP Day! About noon, I got the first 'butterfly ride' of the year - a HUGE Swallowtail landed right on my shoulder as I walked. We walked for half a block together! WOW! Such a wonder!

THEN....

About mid-afternoon, I'm standing out on my sidewalk near the wisteria. A vine end with no leaves was waving a few feet in front of me. Suddenly here comes a Praying Mantis walking down the dead 'stick' toward me. I say "HI!". He stops at the end, raises up like he's saying HI right back. I talk to him, head goes back and forth like he's understanding everything...finally after about 2 minutes, I tell him I'm going back inside - he turned around and headed back toward the leaves. ANOTHER OH WOW!!! Such a neat, beautiful creature!

THEN....(see, I TOLD you it was NON-STOP!)

Late afternoon, I head to let the big girls outside - there on my screen door is a HUGE Drop-dead BEAUTIFUL 'Pandora Sphinx Moth'! I've never seen one before so didn't know what it was but knew it was kin to my other brown Sphinx's. This isn't a small moth, it's as big as my HAND! I found a picture someone else took to share what it looks like - it sat on my screen until dark when I had to move him to shut the big door for the night:

THEN...nope, not over yet!

I'm outside for my nightly 'quiet time' listening to the frogs and crickets - PLOP right on my shoulder drops a green tree frog! He sat there looking at me while I talked to him for another 2-3 minutes before he hopped back to the tree.

What a BLESSED BLESSED Day it was!!!

Today we hold close Jill/Lona losing Charlie but celebrating her life and a bittersweet OTJ. Also holding close Barb losing Chex and our other ill babies.

BIG HUGS to all that visit today!!!! I hope you're as BLESSED today as I was yesterday!!!

I love these animal visits. Reading this made me smile! Have you ever had a visit from a dragonfly? They also will sit with you. It's very special.

Oh DRAGONFLIES! We have literally CLOUDS of dragonflies each morning here....they land on us quite often. Sometimes we even get their love dance!

Wow, you are an insect communicator too! ;-) Nice blue AMPS for KT.

We had a similar problem with Zener in the past. He would not eat overnight and then puke when the first food hit his tummy in the morning. We learned on here about auto feeders, and we started using one with a little bit of food and a little bit of freeze dried chicken overnight. At first we could put fortiflora on it and know, if it was eaten, Zener did it. Now, Tillie likes that stuff too, so we can't always be sure it's him eating the food. The benefit of the auto feeder is we can set the time for when it is open and available and when it closes, so no worries about eating right before AM testing time.

Hi, Lyresa, sending appy vines to KT today. I'm glad that Dakota is feeling good ~ good luck with his new dose!

I love love love your nature encounters! That moth is AMAZING! (I've only seen them in books and pinned to a specimen tray.)
Enjoy your day today!

Hi Lyresa,
What a fantastic day, communing with all those species. The huge moth is beautiful. Have you seen Monarchs this year? We haven' t seen any and I heard on the radio that the population crashed because of the use of Roundup by the big agribusiness-farms in the midwest. This is distressing. We go out of our way to cultivate milkweed and Roundup destroys it!

KT, you must eat your nighttime fuds!!

Dakota, work that new juice!

Hugs, scritches, dances,

Ella & Rusty

I know the problem w/ not eating overnight. That's why we stay up until 1:00, to make sure her highness eats!

What wonderful creatures you have all around you! I've had Monarchs land on me in the eucalyptus groves, they winter here. The west of the Rockies population anyway.

That's a totally neat picture! I never have my camera handy when I see things that require a picture  I hope you can get that nighttime appy up and running for KT and that you can find the perfect dose for Dakota soon. Have a great night!

Thank you for sharing the bug stories! What beautiful things fill our world! This summer I had a dragonfly land on my shoulder to eat a wasp - it was amazing to watch it crunch the whole thing bit by bit, with legs hanging out of its mouth like spaghetti! But I didn't have my camera and didn't want to move so I just watched.

I hope KT's tummy settles down and Dakota's numbers get where you want them. Have a lovely evening.
